Jealousy the green-eyed monster Monday Musings by Art Hours |
Jealousy is like a green eyed monster and you look like one when you act that way.
Don't know who said that one..
However, the phrase green-eyed monster was coined by Shakespeare to denote jealousy in The Merchant of Venice, 1596 and he even used the same in Othello.
Jealousy has so often been the central theme in storytelling, probably the most common trait found in all of us human beings. We are jealous of our neighbor's comfort, colleague's promotion, and so on...this makes our relationships bitter and life becomes less meaningful. Truly we start acting like the green-eyed monster then!
The best way to deal with it is to let it go....remind yourselves of the positive things you have, rather than the have-nots, and probably that will help you to get rid of this negative trait.
So just breathe it out and let it go...
Have a good day!
